Ok so I am still at the planning phase as to how to install the system that I purchased for my 2002 Ford Explorer. I am debating between building a pair of Fiberglass kick pods and mounting the mids and tweeters together, or, mounting the mid in the stock speaker door location with the tweeter mounted in the piller. My questions are;
1. If I mount the midrange driver in the door, factory speaker location, and the tweeter in the piller, how can I go about making the spot in the door as ridged as possible? I have purchased a pair of DLS R-6a's for the front components, which consist of 6&1/2' mids and 1' tweets. My factory speaker size is 6x8's so I will be purchasing a pair of adapters from my local shop. I want really good mid bass, so I know that I need to make sure the door locations are very ridged, I'm just not sure how to go about doing this?
2. If I go with kick panels from Q-logic, would that be pretty solid compared to the door location?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Be nice, I am new to the car side of things, I have been into home audio for several years. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
