Hey everyone ive been looking around on the internet and in my car but i cant seem to find out what size my alternator. Ive heard japenease alts are very small.

I have a 1996 Toyota Paseo. I want to know what size my alt is because i wanna get 1100watt amp.

If anyone knows my alts amps or where i can find out id be greatly appreciate it.

Right now i have my 9813 HU (20 amp fuse) and my RF 300S amp (?fuse) and the soon to come tsunami 1100db (?fuse). ANyone know if i could run it on my factory alternator?

thanks for checkin that out. I have done the same, but because they are only replacement parts there is no way to know for sure. Also i tired to look at the alt in my car. Its buried deep into the left side and the sticker is facing in. Almost now way of reading whats on it unless i like take the engine out i think... Very difficult place to reach.

Ok so lets just say my alt is 70amps. Does that mean my electrical system can only put out a max of 70 amps before it starts draining my battery??

Anyone know how many amps a tsunami db 1100 and a rockford fosgate punch 300S take. Also would i be able to run both of those amps on the alt i got, or would i need to buy a beefier alt? Cause if so then im gonna have to wait on getting that tsunami...

thanks guys

That's an aweful small alternator for a 1000 watt + system. I'd at the very least get the 140 amp direct bolt on. Otherwise check out some of the other high output offerings such as Irragi Alternators. You'll want to upgrade your factory battery and all your factory wiring as well. Run at least 2 gauge from the battery to the back. Also, upgrade the ground(s).

That IS a pretty small alternator, but your car also has a small electrical demand. Peak current draw is NOT what you need to base your electrical system on - if that was the case EVERYONE with an aftermarket amplifier of any size at all would need an upgraded alternator. Music usually has an RMS current draw of about 20-30% vs. that of test tones. I would think that if you listen to your system at reasonable volumes most of the time your stock alternator should get the job done, but if you're burping it with test tones for an hour a day you might have problems.
