im usnure of how much power the remote wire actually draws on the amps (im assuming very little).. and was just wondering what, if any, would be the limit the HU can take?
Remote doesn't draw much current at all, but it depends on the head unit how many amps it can turn on before bad things start to happen. Can always throw a relay in just to be on the safe side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
2 is usually the safe point....after that its too many...just run a relay...Single Pole Single Throw...SPST relay from any auto parts store will work just fine.
Like someone else said, it depends on the brand/model of h/u. Contact the manufacturer specifically if knowing is a necessity. But if in doubt, just add a 2 dollar bosch relay, as was also suggested earlier. To sum up, I have nothing new to add to the thread here, but repeating for truth.
