How Low is to Low for voltage?

Because I can......LOL I am saving for a MECHman ALt but until then this is what I got....
Also im going to get the ALT with adjustable voltage... I think it can go up to like 17 or 18 volts.... Well my batteries are stinger spv70's and they say they can handle up to 15volts.. So my question is that if I adjust my voltage to lets say 16Volts for burps will I be ok or will the batteries fail on me?
unless the battery is 16v RESTING voltage, I wouldn't put 17-18v on it at all.

look it up. if your alternator cannot charge then then the batteries actually turn into the cancer rather than the bandaid they are intended. upgrading alternator is the only true answer to this. 200-250 amps.

so your saying that with the stock alternator add a few more batteries onto the already 4 battery setup?

I could see him maybe having a few more batteries if he had a rediculous charging system,(shyt 500-600 amps) he culd probably add 4-5 more batteriesif he wanted.

I dont know why you are getting so defensive. chill brother, its not a competition to give out advice, i just said try maybe only using 1 battery for a period of time with his setup.

And if you have enough batteries a stock alt is fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hell I've ran 20kw on 11 batteries and a stock alt...did fine

thats precisly what i am saying the multiple battery setup is way overrated along with caps. batteries are bandaids in the end.

lmao how do you figure?

Say a hot "300 amp" alt puts out 140 amps at idle

You have 20 batteries that are rated 80 amp hours and 2000+ amps each.

If you are drawing 2000 amps....then thats only 100 amps per battery....you're voltage is barely going to move

I don't care if you have the most badass alt ever, If you figure a good battery will be enough for 150 amps of draw, then an alternator is going to be like having 2 more batts, and if you have that many batts its going to take forever for an alt to charge them.

Alternators are a good idea for sure, but they aren't any better then batteries

Put two IA 40.1's on one 900 cca battery and a 220 amp alternator @ 2000 RPM and tell me how many 4 second full power burps you get off of that.

Im not getting defensive, im perplexed by the logic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

lol eitehr way regardless i dont think anyone will agree about charging systems!everyone will always argue abotu caps batts and alt's. lol

Lets make amends and agree to disagree
But I'm sure that everyone will agree that you are a moron!

Everyone will always argue about your intelligence.

Lets make amends and just agree that you're an idiot.

@OP I don't think 40.1's are the amps for you if you find the need to question voltage a burp loads. You should just give them both to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
