How important is this, really?

Well as luck would have it one of my rear speakers as well as one of my front speakers blew. So I am in the hunt for some new speakers. Here is my question though. A couple of dealers said that if I dont dynomat my door, buying a good speaker will be like wasting money. In addition they also said that I should invest in some good wires (one gentlemen even gave me the example of the $1000 he spent on his wires alone). Now my wires arent bad wires (4 gauge and Fosgate stuff), but do I really need new wires? How important is that dynomat if my doors dont rattle and I am not making holes behind the speakers? In my humble opinion dynamat is a worthwhile investment if used correctly. I use it directly behind the speaker itself. And on the edges of the speaker mounting holes. As for the new wires. There have been many discussions about that very thing. If you do not have a problem with noise. And your wires are of proper gauge to handle the load presented to them. You will not gain anything but aesthetic beauty from changing them.

Until someone can prove that 10 ft of copper signal wire that costs $50 sounds better than 10ft of copper signal wire that costs $5 - wire make means little.

I only have time to get on here before work early in the morning during the week. I'm currently working on the sqpl //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif install in my Benz. I just got finished sound deadening everything. The car had a considerable amount of deadening in it allready. But it still needed more. Now you can here a mouse fart //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I also just finished my enclosure in the trunk. Now I'm getting ready to build the moving amp rack. And then I got to work on the dash. I will be working on this system for the next year or so probably. Oh well ya got to love this stuff.
