oh yeah of coarse the box matters but its not even close to 90% of the importance of the spl lol but you would have to be pretty retarded or shit faced to make a box that a dd would lose to a LA

tc sounds built some of the lightning audio subs.... i wouldnt call them "low line" by any means... your an idiot plain and simple. maybe stop posting and read a little bit, learn something before you sprout of some of the crap you do.... or, alternativly, leave this forum and go somewhere your own pace, somewhere your welcome... maybe sounddomain.com?

You sound bad. Reguardless you do not have the mental capacity to make a good system, and definately not enough to reccomend to people what they want mr JL is god type of newb. I would like to see a nice un-ghetto way your avoiding cancellation especially running that single POS sony amp to 5 subs?

Bottom Line: The W7s are good subs, but are expensive. If you find one at a decent price, you will be buying unauthorized with a 3rd party warranty or no warranty at all, and the single 3 ohm VC means you have to buy a bigger, more expensive amp to make the subs reach their full potential. JL makes their top line equipment so you almost have to buy a full JL system. You're much better off getting one of the many other subs that will give you the same performance for less cash, and will be more compatible with your current equipment.

And NO NO NO NO NO pre fab boxes!!!!!!!!!!

best way to think of it is the ideal encloser is part of the sub so when it comes down to it a low end LA in its best box won't even come close to a w7 in its best box probly might hit about 10 percent if that... so it looks like the sub is more like 100% the importance of spl and the box is just nesaccary with all subs

Can we ban for stupidity? Is that allowed? Hows this, lets take your precious jl13w7 and put it in a ported box tuned to 55hz. Then lets take a el cheapo 8 and put it in a 2 cube box sealed and compare output down low.. I'm sure someone can demonstate the idea for you, I hate winisd and I'm lazy. A subs response is almost purely dicated by it's box, hate to break it to you.

You have to design the enclosure around the characteristics of the driver AND the vehicle. There is no such thing as a good prefab. There are only less-shitty prefabs. Now, go read the forum and learn a few things before posting again.

Please explain this one to me? did jl get every car in the world together, and throw one of these prefab's in their, and then compare them to a properly built box for the sub and the car, or are you maybe just spewing the same pro-jl crap out your *** as every salesman-"installer" is taught to do? Also- how, at the ripe old age of 23 (same age as mine, btw so im not downing you for that) how do you own your own shop (as your wording seems to imply), with "more JL items in stock than JL does"? what facts do i need to get straight? your putting words in my mouth, as well. i never stated that the power wedge was a bad buy... as you said- for those without the time and skill it takes to required to build a correct box. it may be ok. my issue is this- i make post stating the w7's do not sound that great (as is my personal belief, which i obtained through actually hearing 5-7 set-ups using them, and alot of audiophiles agree with me on this), you come in, acting like your some high end audiophile with 10+ years of experience, saying that its a power issue, which is totally vaugue, (and also most likely incorrect) I make a post calling you out on this, because it is for the most part, WRONG. you get all butt-hurt over words that were never said...
