How do you guys with BIG systems tolerate it

seriously tho, I dont play it through town @ high volume, and when it is up, it makes driving close to impossible because of your eyes and brain vibrating so bad its like having 10 drinks in ya..

And it gets tiring focusing on your breathing..

Lower 150's don't really bother me too much on a daily basis. However, loud highs give me a huge headache.

a year ago i was 15 feet away from the exhaust outlets of this gulfstream turbine as it was taxi'ing out, and to this day its the loudest thing ive ever heard, my eyebrows, and lashes got singed 90% off to put the icing on the cake.

something about that frequency, it was nuts, no other noise could protrude my ears, ive had headaches from loud bass and highs before, but this migrane headache thing lasted over a couple hours

i'd have to get a wall of 50 6.5"s mids and 100 bullet tweets to mimick its tones.

treble and mid upper mids is just sooooo much more violent to us mortals

my system is weak. I probably don't even hit 130 db. Which is sad.

12's. I should be hitting like 144 db with my equipment but it isn't that loud to me. And yeah, my trunk is sealed off, but it doesn't make a difference. I've tested them in the trunk and it only added about 1 db. My box is hella small though ( 1.5 cf x2 )

Alpine R's don't like sealed - they go for a ported box. You'll probably notice a huge increase if you changed.

This for sure but i would leave it as is cause your system probably sounds incredible down to 35hz and with sealed they hit more accurately.

And you say youre from Florida... Pssh.

I gotta have LOUD bass and LOUD highs. Right now in my van I have about 1,500-2,000rms on highs alone and its pretty loud.

There are times once in a while where it's just a bit much though, rarely, but once in a while. I like how my sub hits down to 30 hz for where it peaks though. Ftw.

id say maybe you arent a basshead like you thought you were and maybe you should try the SQ side of things instead.

when i did have a pretty loud system i found it was a great way to blow off steam on my hour long drive home from work. by the time i got home i was relaxed, maybe because of the back massage i got the entire time haha

im also deaf in my right ear (not because of the music but a chronic condition ive had since i was 3) so maybe whats loud to you isnt loud to me.
