Me and my friend almost completed my whole audio install today, but we hit a bump in the road. I have 2 mtx subs in one box, that gives out a 4 ohm impedance. The subs have just one positive and one negative speaker connection. I have a 2 channel hifonics amp that is bridgable.

What i planned to do was bridge the amp and connect it to my subs. The amp does 400 rms at 1 chan at 4 ohms, which i figured would be perfect. But then in the manual for the amp, it says you need a y adapter to connect to my head unit when running in full range mono? So the regular rca adapters wont work that came with the wiring kit?

Can someone here tell me what to do please lol. Thanks in advance.

so you have two 4ohm single voice coil subs and a hifi amp that puts out 400 @ 4ohms x1..

if what i understand is correct you can only wire your subs down to 2ohms in parallel and up to 8ohms in series.

see if your amp can go down to 2ohms. if it can't. then just wire each sub to each speaker output onto the amp.

here are the wire configurations i believe is what you need.

Lol dude the subs are wired together, and need to be connected at 4 ohms. The amp does 400 watts rms at 1 chan at 4 ohms. Thats perfect.

York PA. My friend actually lives in Herford'ish area.

The model is a Txi Titan 4008

you cant wire those two subs to get a 4 ohm impedance. like the other guy said, you can either wire them to 2 or 8 ohms

If it's like I think it is, you have a stereo amp 2ch right so the right rca and the left rca in that

mode go through the amp to the right and left out put's... And if it's 400rms bridged it is

probably 200wrms x 2 at the Right and left outputs. So if your sub's are 4ohm single voice

coil just connect one sub directly to the right out put and the other sub to the left out put. and then you wont have to wire the sub's together

TXI4008

- A/B class 2-channel

- 100-W RMS x 2-ch @ 4Ω

- 200-W RMS x 2-ch @ 2Ω

- 400-W RMS x 1-ch @ 4Ω

Thats what my amp does.

But dude my subs that i bought were factory enclosed. They are wired somehow that they come out to only one pos/neg terminal in the back. The sticker says 4 OHMS. So .....
