How do I permanetly install this -pics

I want to cut the cig lighter plug off this and have a two wire hook up... but the two wires coming off the cig lighter just seperate into 2 different wires eventually... one for each light.

So there is only a + going to each light? What's up with that?

inside each wire is a positive and a negative in their own respective insulation. you could look at that if you wanted to cut the wire. the lights wouldn't work if there was only + going to the light and no ground....

the safest/easiest way would be to do the following

1.) find out which side is + and which side is ground (take a DMM to the cigarette lighter to do this)

2.) Find a hidden area that you can stuff a few wires

3.) Solder a wire to the + side of the cigarette plug and run that wire to the battery or distro block, wrap the connection in heatshrink

4.) Solder a wire to the ground of the cigarette plug and run that wire to ground, wrap the connection in heatshrink

or you can cut and splice on the wire side of the cigarette plug

Edit- I figured it out but wow i've never only worked with literally 5 thin strands of ground wire and 5 thin strands of power wire. The ground is between the red/white casing and black casing, and the power is inside the colored cases



Thanks. Anyways... so I cut the cig lighter off, this is how it goes: one wire: black case, white inside the black, copper inside the white. Second wire goes: black case, red inside the black, copper wires inside the red. and the streetglow instructions: "For a permanent installation, connect RED and WHITE to positive(+) 12v and connect the copper shield to neg(-) ground.
