that is my point man
i whould like to tune the head unit and the amp and the subs to .5
Sure, its a dial in essence, as in, its a knob that moves up or down to the desired input, but when you do it right, you need to test that you are getting your desired output, not just "turning it up or down." And the point is not to make it clip, you are correct, but how do you know when that happens?Yeah.. it really is just turning a dial, no matter how you put it.. unless you're using an oslioscope, you're just turning it up until the disired watts, not until it starts clipping. . .
Do what you want, its your amp.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifwell then what do you think miker, please help me out with this. these guys have pretty much talked me out of even trying it, but as long as i do it right i should be ok right? just to try it out and see if i like it or want to try to run it all time?
Hey, I can't help you there, lol. I mean, IF you feel comfortable trying it out, then try it out and see how it goes. . .well then what do you think miker, please help me out with this. these guys have pretty much talked me out of even trying it, but as long as i do it right i should be ok right? just to try it out and see if i like it or want to try to run it all time?
First off, you dont "tune" the headunit and the amp and subs to .5, you WIRE them. And it certainly has sounded like you are a dumbass about the gain when you are talking about just turning it up to 90% or down to 30%. Again, its not a fcking volume knob.

are you not reading my post or what
Semantics, yes it is a "dial" by definition, but you dont just go out there and say, oh i want more power and just turn it up like a volume knob, understand what im trying to say?EXACLTY, so unless you're using an oliscope or w/e it's called, all it is is turning a dial up and down.. There is no other way to do it right (in my mind anyway.)
Kind of.. Kind of not.Semantics, yes it is a "dial" by definition, but you dont just go out there and say, oh i want more power and just turn it up like a volume knob, understand what im trying to say?
