how bad is .5 ohm

they also base all those test off of a 15v battery i e yellow top or better so if you dont have that upgrade then you arnt getting ALL of those watts eather tho, it is allways best to underrate incase the over rate

No, there are many companies that do rate at 12.8 - 14.4

ok man but how do you keep over a 12.5 without upgradeing yoru battery??? no matter what you do the amp is a drain the car running is a drain you dont keep 12.5 off that shit battery anyway

Well I wasn't really saying you could hit rated power on stock electrical, but just buying a yellow top isn't gonna keep you up there either if your alternator isn't up to par as well as the rest of your electrical.

unless your alty comes stock at 65 amps tho your ok, most come raited around 100 amps and that is all you will need for any basic stario ( pulling 1-2k watts)

and as allways man if you have anything bigger then 8 gauge wireing in my oppinion you must do a big three with any stario you use

iv seen lots of difrant formulas man 20v is low, but at the same time you want it low you dont want to just go nutts

i just wanted to see if i was going to like it at .5 if i did take it to a osiloscope

if you want true preformance put it on a osiloscope
Of course its low, its ONE example, of ONE amp that only has 100 watts to give. Of course if you have a larger amp, you put in the NEW numbers and come up with a NEW voltage.

Lets try this again. My massive is rated at 3000 but actually puts out more like 2600 into 2 ohm load.

So..

Voltage = sqrt(2600X 2 ohms)

Voltage = sqrt(5200)

Voltage = 72.1110255V

so i want my dmm to read 72.1 or close. See how that works?

**** thats a monster amp

but ya

i am keeping my dmm around 40 vlots becouse raited watts wise it says at 46.4
whats your amp rated at? Do you have a birthsheet?

Also guys, lets say you have a larger amp then your subs can handle, you can do the same forumla and do it with the RMS of your SUBS and set your gain that way, this is how you get away with having a larger amp on smaller subs with headroom.
