hooking up a car cd player in house.

Well, it can... You can add all these high end stuff on it. A home stereo can handle only so much.
Once again, going to need a beefy power supply to juice all this "high end" car audio.

Second you can get same level of separates in home equipment too, dumbass.

Yeah, thats true. It just depends on how much the person is going to spend. Its a fun experience though.
You can get a small 15amp power supply for $30 or so. He can connect that hu to it and a small 4 channel amp to run the highs.
I'd take a $30 boom box over that ghetto *** scenario.

why cant anyone ever just help someone?
then again it is ca.com

just get an old computer powersupply that does like 15a on the 12v rail.

strip one yellow for power, another yellow for rem, and strip one for ground. then if you have a non switching power supply, just get the green wire on the 20/24 pin power connector and get a black one of the same connector and tape them together.

walla car cd player in your home.
Because this has already been proven a worthless exercise, numerous times. Why are we obligated to help someone do a worthless ghtto fab rig job?

Get bent.

What PSUs are you running?

That one and an old 8 amp i got off an old computer. My DMM broke so i dont know what my voltage is at.

I used to run a Hifonics TXI-4006 (400 RMS), but that recently took a shit so ill be running a Kicker ZX250.2 soon. With the Hifonics at full tilt the LEDs on the amp stayed solid but the light on the remote dimmed a bit. I never ran it hard at all but one day it just went into protect and wouldnt come out.

idk maybe it is all he can afford?
i just do that test shit.

you could probably run like a shitty pyle amp of it tho
A $30 boombox is better than a $30 PSU and car CD player. There is no if in the equation. It is also potential a dangerous situation.
It still remains that this forum isn't in any way obligated to help morons do stupid shit. This forum has plenty of people who help, when the questions or scenarios presented are worth the effort. This isn't the case.

FAIL.

Yes you can, but its like 40 wrms or less.

What a retard...

A.) You can easily get more power than that

B.) I can make your ears bleed with 10rms and the right speakers...

i never said if fyi.

You have me convinced now. Sounds like a solid plan.
Ill admit it probably had something to do with not running it at 14 volts like a car, but i wasnt expecting to get the full 400 watts out of it. It probably never clipped, so i figured it was just Hifonics.

If you werent being sarcastic than smilies help the situation a bit.

So, by saying a home stereo does around 40wrms at 8 ohms makes me a retard? I'm not trying to say all stereos do 40wrms, each home stereo is different. That's just an average of watts rms they do.

All I'm trying to say is you probably have a better chance getting a better sounding system with car audio equipment, rather than home equipment.

Which is why they designed home audio equipment for ... homes? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
