hooking up a car cd player in house.

Your sig says that your H/U is a home stereo converted to DC. So you're saying that a home stereo is better for the car and a car stereo is better for the home? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
Sorry but you're not making any sense.

The OP might as well just by an HTIB for around $100 and call it a day.
ROFL. I made that up. I didnt actually think anyone would believe my sig? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

ok, well. sence i posted this ill tell you why. i have a CAR cd player already. and i know now yall dont know what yall are talking about because i used a car battery to power both of my CAR cd player and my CAR amp. and i just wanted to use what i already have. not go buy new shit for giggles.
thanks for the help though "myjaja" dude.
well after yall play the stereo for an hour and the battery runs out how are yall gonna charge it back up? hook it up to your car again?

you can modify a computer power supply to power it, but you seem like to much of a moron to figure it out so i wont even begin to explain it

Well, it can... You can add all these high end stuff on it. A home stereo can handle only so much.
the DC/AC convertors will cost more than the equipment. if your going spend hundreds on DC/AC convertors why not buy home equipment in the first place

You're right... we don't know what we're talking about...

Exactly--good luck finding a decent power supply over 500W for less than the cost of "new shit for giggles". And a PC power supply will hardly last if you're consistently pulling anywhere near it's rated power.

Yeah, thats true. It just depends on how much the person is going to spend. Its a fun experience though.

You can get a small 15amp power supply for $30 or so. He can connect that hu to it and a small 4 channel amp to run the highs.

Thats what im doing, except i have a reciever and the only thing the PSUs are running is my sub amp. Its not that bad, i bought my PSU and amp for around 170.00. That much power in a plate amp would be a bit more.

why cant anyone ever just help someone?

then again it is ca.com

just get an old computer powersupply that does like 15a on the 12v rail.

strip one yellow for power, another yellow for rem, and strip one for ground. then if you have a non switching power supply, just get the green wire on the 20/24 pin power connector and get a black one of the same connector and tape them together.

walla car cd player in your home.

Yes you can, but its like 40 wrms or less.
No it is whatever the amp is rated for that you hook up to it. Plus if you run a powerful amp off any cheap converter you will have a fire or a dead converter or both real soon. They don't put out a constant high amperage necessary for a large car amp, dingle douche. Those that do will cost too much and yo might as well do it right. Your idea sux. Simple as that.
