HO Alternator, opinions plz.....

Yeah man, These Alternators are **** expensive. Still doing some research. I got a quote for HO Alternators too for 180 amp for $650. I'm not really trying to spemd more then $300. I think think Dominick website is Iraggi.com if I'm not mistaken. Or try the search, you should be able to find him.

Still waiting for a quote back from Excessive Amperage. And I just put a price quote request in to Stinger but you have to go through an authorized dealer. I'm sure Stinger is gonna be pricey but they told me that they have a 200a for my car which would be perfect.

Strecker25,

I think that 160a and the Big 3 would work. Did you get it yet?

Oh, that's nice. Did you get it? How many watts you running? Still waiting to hear back from them so hopefully they can get me one. I've heard good things about them on this forum.

Haven't ordered one yet. Hope to be doing so in a few weeks.

Check the sig for what I'll be running. I'll be having a large battery bank, however //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hmmmm, do you belong to an Eclipse forum? Someone on there must know something. You guys always have systems in your cars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If all else fails, you can either send you alternator to a place like Ohio Generator and have them rebuild it with more amps or you can just buy like a universal one and custom mount it, only probelm with that is getting the pully to work.

Did you try motorcity yet? Mean-green?

Alterstart probably has yours but a couple people say they ****. I dunno. Good luck.

Hey guys,

I'm getting some mixed responses regarding what Alternaor to get. How do I figure out how many amps I need? Some are telling me to get a 200a for a 2000 watt system and others say a 140a with the Big 3 will do the job. What is the formula to figure this out? Does it have to do with the required amp fuse? See here:

I'm having trouble getting a 200a but I can get a 140a from mean grean.
