High quality music setup

Yes, just wondering if that would work. Obviously I would not be able to have a whole collection downloaded at the same time lol.
If u download the files and play offline u will be fine as long as u r still a member once u cancel service u cannot play the files anymore for tidal, I had downloaded some land moved the to my computer and removed the drm so I was successful with some but they have it to where some songs will not download correct so u can't do that to a whole album

ANd how the hell do you have 8TB in music/movies? I don't even have 2TB in 200+ movies, 20+ TV Shows (seasons), 10,000+ songs, and 50ish games installed from Steam...
The dvd's are not downloaded/compressed - still in vob format (4-7gb each)

music is only 400gb (music collection started at 25k songs, but thinned it out for iTunes match)

I was also a Microsoft Technet/MSDN subscriber so I still have all the ISO's from that (another few TB's lol).

edit - also photos in raw format from my dslr (another 200gb)

Fair enough. I always compress my movies because I don't need surround sound which is a huge chunk of storage. I mainly just use Popcorn Time now. I never even thought about raw uncompressed photos. How was being a Microsoft Technet? I'm studying Computer Science and looking for more an IT style job. Feel free to shoot me a PM so we stay off the thread.

I looked at many different ways of fixing the same issue with my tunes. I ended up signing up for itunes match, it was 25$ for the year. It matches all your files with what is in the itunes store then after it matched them all I deleted my entire library on my computer and re-downloaded it all from the itunes match. All the same 256 kbps AAC from all the same place.
edit - Here is a link to how to do it
Ok I did this, it upgraded about 1400 songs but 300ish the replacements were still only 128k. I will see what kind of a difference it makes.

Is the 300ish that is still 128k the ones that it uploaded?

They discontinued the Technet program - all that is left is a MSDN which is very expensive.

Yes, it replaced some with 128k versions, and they were 128k to begin with. Also I had about 30 songs that it said matched but then would not download them. None of them very important though.

I do that with beatport sometimes when I need normalized leveled music to play with tractor pro at parties. Its high quality and the volume gains are not all over the place, easier to mix tracks. Torrented files cant match it since it was produced for DJs.
oh thats legit i didnt know people here mixed! i use traktor as well with an s2

All this cool stuff happening in the world and I am stuck out in the sticks :stuck:
