if you're going ported, be sure to look for an amp that has a sub sonic filter as well.

i'm going to seal these. they are going in a 2002 honda civic si hatch.

and i can get either the dual 4's or 2's.

i havent bought the subs yet

Type R's are very inefficient... I had 600 RMS on a single 10" and it hit nicely....

You will want at least 600RMS per sub...

Alpine R's in a well made ported box sound amazing. I hit mid 130dbs with a single 10 from TCAB.

They make a really good box... pricy, yes, but totally custom per your car, amp and sub... check'em out... Mark Potts is the owner... IASCA World Champ and Competitor...

If you are new to the game and odnt have money for the custom box, you can mimic the Alpine Slot Port box for like $150 at a local install place or even from the internet...

I think that mono block with 2 dual 4's would work great.
