Before I go on, I'd like to announce that I'm an idiot. So keep that in mind...

I was under my truck today, and where I put my ground, I could see the screw. It's right kinda close to the hose that runs from the gas cap to the tank. And I was wondering what I should do to the screw so water wont mess it up. I'm not sure what happens when water touches the ground, but I'm sure it isn't good.

the ground runs through your intire car...nothing will happen when water touches the screw, unless the same pool of water is also touching the +

You can put petroleum jelly on the bolt/screw so it doesn't rust that could help. But yeah just try to attach it to a sanded down metal part of the the car.
