The real answer here is no, you will likely not see much of a difference. If the hifonics is truly overrated by a few hundred watts, you're still only talking a minimal difference when in the 1500w range.
I doubt you'd see an improvement worth the investment.

bullshit i can hear a difference from the 2006 and my RD 1750... slight but way cleaner and slightly louder(probably from the higher efficiency).. def worth the upgrade..

Then you are hearing a difference in the quality of the equipment, NOT the power output.

then isnt it worth it. I dont see why I get flamed for suggesting a quality amp that I dont even own. THe Sundown > Hifonics anyday and I have seen a bench test of the BX15000 and it put out ~ 930 watts at 1 ohm. If he gets thje sundown he will be much happier and have a ton of reserve power,
