Hi Everybody! I'm new, check out my build

I think I'd rather spend $425 for that 3250.1 amp rather than switching to 0.75 ohms and a 1750.1. I don't think I save to stand much money, if any by doing that.

A lot of this stuff is in a very high price range. I know SQ doesn't come cheap. Any suggestions for 5.25" components for the front? I'm not really sure what to do about the interiors now...

I'm gonna try the Focal polyglass speakers out, I'm sure they aren't terrible for the price I paid. I can always replace them with different speakers and move them to the back. Thanks for the suggestions, you guys have given me more things to think about. As far as upgrading my electrical system goes, the stock alternator and double battery should be fine for the amount of current I will normally be drawing.

Can you post some pics of the doors? Some with the panels on and some with just the bare metal. Would you be open to cutting some metal away?

Nice color combo btw. I've been looking at these lately. I actually liked the white/red combo as well, but to each his own. I think I have my heart set on an RS4 or S4 Avant. I really want an RS4 Avant but they didn't bring them here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

Like I said, the Polyglass mids are decent. But the Polyglass tweeters sound like nails on a chalkboard to me. No detail. Harsh, lack definition. The Access tweeters sound better to me. What about building kick panels/having them built. You could keep everything out of the doors. Tweeters on the A-pillars and mids in the kicks. Would give you better sound too if done right. Then you can just seal the doors up with deadener to block road noise.

I like the Alpine Type-X 5.25"s. If I am my interiors and move the Focals to the back, can I control the gain for the front and rear speakers independently on a 4 channel amp? Would this setup be feasible, or am I making a mistake with the Focals in the first place?

Do you have any suggestions for an interior amp?

I haven't seen the back of my headunit yet... Any ideas on how I would set up crossovers? Do I need something to combine the signals into the full frequency range? I know the Focals have internal crossovers, but I don't know if my OEM speakers do, or if the output channels deliver a frequency band.

Any ideas?

And my dad's got a lamborghini and an indy 500 pacecar. Not my money...

He bought the lowest/cheapest model from BMW and he's rich? lol
I'm not personally wealthy, I just graduated. I like the 135i more than the 3 series, it's smaller and less expensive. Anyway, it doesn't matter what I finance, I think you care more about money and status than I do... I'm happy with anything that goes fast around a track, that's why I do F2000.

Why the attitude?

Don't worry about what car I drive and how much it costs, I just want to make the sound system in it nice. You're being a jerk to me a little premptively. I just wanna go fast, I hate status symbols, and I'm glad you don't like my car. It doesn't matter. Plenty of people think the Lotus is ugly too. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and they all stink.

Oh, and this is what the 1 series door panel looks like:

I don't mind cutting metal away, as long as it isn't structural.

Can we stick to the following:

i think you need to reorganize your budget to include an aftermarket headunit, and after reading this: http://blogs.edmunds.com/roadtests/2008/12/2008-bmw-135i-everything-but-the-radio.html, its confirmed.

i think this has already been said, but most people just lose the rear speakers all together. who cares what it sounds like in the back seats anyways. also, i wouldnt wait on amping the fronts. especially if you get the type x.

he had an elise? and his mother has one too? come on.

A lotus is no Gallardo...

Actually, the 05 Elise ran about 42K new, and there was a long waiting list, so most people paid above MSRP. The 07 Exige cost me exactly the same, interestingly. My family is well to do, but I just graduated and certainly don't get any free handouts, aside from not having to worry about student loans (which I'm very thankful for).

As far as the headunit goes, it's part of the IDrive, I don't have that radio display on my car. I think replacing the HU is out of the question, I'd like to work with the outputs I have.
