Hey Guys Need a little help!

Well as you all can see I am new to this site. I have a 98 suburban all stock, but I am gonna change that, I wanna put just 2 small subs in the back but I wanna keep all my cargo area. My question is this whats behind all the plastic on the right side? and can I tear it out and build a enclose in there?
