heres how to make 2 D4's, run @ 2 ohm...

yeh, it all makes sense, except im not familiar with the way the amp works using that 2 channel thing. Obviously its not running 1200 watts per channel, cause then it would be a 2400 watt amp, not 1200.

well, if u do this with your 1200.1....even though it has four speaker inputs (or 2 sets) the amp is internally bridged. SO, it will still be a 1ohm load. peace

it look parrel to me what sort i dont know it not series parrel ??what amp u got the crossfire vr when wired like that daul 4 ohm voic coil the amp will see them as 1ohm sounds weard but that what they say (i have thm working like that ) but i have seriesparrel on 1 side of sub hook the+ to the - the other side su from that +&- to ur amp

i had the same problem with my mtx 81000d. it has 2 channels but its not 1 ohm stable. but ive been running 2 4 ohm dvc subs i guess at 1 ohm and its been fine....but shuts off when i do a sine sweep @ about 40 hz...probably gets too hot? i didnt have a very good air circulation. oh well.

is that the amp you asked about? the 81000D? do all mono amps have two channels? ive actually been wondering about this for a while...but its ok to run 2 dvc 4 ohm subs on that amp? ideally it would be 1 ohm (1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4 = 1) but technically theres two channels...so it might be actually seeing 2 ohms x 2 channels and 750 watts x 2. !?@?!$? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif :banghead:

Originally posted by Wonderbread the reason it shuts down oin sine sweps is that as you play a sine wave... the impedance on teh coil drops... it is dropping significantly below 1 ohm... that's causing the trouble..
ahh...true true..but they sure are fun.

i played one with me in the the driver's seat, my friend in the passenger seat, and my friend's girlfriend in the back seat....i think i made her 'moisten' herself lol. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

surely you mean two sets of inputs?

mono should be mono... 1 channel... they are there to ease installation,so you don't have to cram in wires. The two sets of terminals supposedly lead to the same points of the circuitry board.

it has one pair of inputs(l+r) , one pair of pre amp outputs(l+r), and two sets of sub terminals...im sure the amp can handle it...and with the new box imbuilding..the ventalation system will be more than adequete (14 intake fans and 14 exhaust fans)

14 pairs of fans???? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif what are you trying to do?

a pair of 80mm push-pull fans should be enough, don't you think?

It's not 2 seperate channels - if you were to open up the amp you'd see that just inside the amp those terminals are actually the the same output - they're parallel to each other. If you hook a 4 ohm load to each sub terminal on the amp the amp sees 2 ohms.

That diagram you posted is a series/parallel configuration. On each sub the voice coils are in series - resulting in a pair of 8 ohm loads, and the subs are paralell at the amp which would be a 4 ohm final load.

To get 1200 watts from the JBL you need to go parallel/parallel. On each sub just hook the pos's together and the neg's together with a "jumper" wire. That will make each sub 2 ohms - then just connect one vc from each sub to the amp. You'll have a 1 ohm load on the amp and you'll be getting full power from it.
