Running into another problem so bass was playing fun then all sudden got really bad smelt something that smell like a blown sub but go check the subs and when I push them in they push in just fine. But now rca unplugged from amp and head unit something is still playing just like if a TV went to the black and white thing. I have no idea what this could be. Also turned gain all the way down on the amp and still does that. Idk wtf is happening.

Here's a video of the subs they dont appear to be blown so I think its the amp but the smell like it was about catch fire and the subs were super hot

Even if they push in fine you should pull them and visually check the coils...putting a dmm on there to check resistance wouldn't be a bad idea either

I've always took a questionable Amp to someone smarter than me tbh 😂
Well the stero shop near me is questionable and have not been much help and past years so im trying to figure it out on my own. How do you check the voice coils of the sub? I find it hard to believe my subs are blown because I have the sundown uv2 12s and there rated for 1750 rms each and the amp is the sundown sia 3500 so that amp could never push those subs to hard. But please tell me how to check the voice coils

Pull them out and use a flashlight to get a good look at the coils. If it looks burnt or see a misshapened spot. Even if the coil looks fine, use a dmm to test the ohms on each coil. It'll probably read slightly lower than advertised. Like a 2ohm coil usually reads 1.7 or 1.8 ohms. If there's a big difference between rated impedance and what you're seeing on the dmm it's a bad sign. Be sure to do the impedance test somewhere with out fans, ac blowing, wind etc. It doesn't take much to change what dmm reads
