I'm upgrading my stock speakers and need some help deciding. I'm using the stock head unit and amp since I can't easily replace them (The system in my Saab is a ***** - if you remove their head unit you lose OnStar and the car won't start so I can't do that. The signal from the headunit is sent to the amplifiers via fiber optic cables, and is then crossed over and sent to the speakers via wire. There's no line out signal anywhere to add my own amp). That aside the headunit and stock amplifiers (there's 3 of them) are built by Pioneer - so they are probably better than your average stock garbage. They produce 300 watts, but I'm guessing that is peak power (it never specified), so that's approximately 180 watts RMS (if the .6 rule applies).
Right now I'm just looking to upgrade the speakers. I'll add a subwoofer later when I get the money. I don't want any coaxial speakers and it would be great if the sensitivity was over 90Db so I can get the most out of the little power I have.
The speaker I need are:
Front:
2 x 6.5" (these are 2 Ohms, everything else is 4)
2 x 3.5"
2 x 1"
1 x 4" full range center
Rear:
2 x 6X9"
2 x 4"
2 x 1"
I've been looking around and I've only found one component 6x9:
ECLIPSE Component Series Speaker SC6900 | Fujitsu Ten
I would use those and the tweeters in the rear. I've never heard of Eclipse speakers. Are they any good? They look OK, plus I can get that set for $100 on Amazon. Are there any other 6x9's that would work for me? Other than that what should I get for the rest of my speakers? Like I said before, I don't want any coaxials since my system is already optimized for components, and I put an emphasis on high sensitivity/low wattage.
Thanks!
