help with soldering

im trying to repair my amp, the power terminal that connects to the circuit board has come off, the thing is the little holes that the pins from the power terminal go into are filled with solder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i heat up my gun and it has a point i stick it right in the hole hoping the solder will simply melt and drip out but it dosent, it just solidifys back in place blocking the hole, ive tried everything to try and get it out but i cant with a hobby knife + soldering iron or a pick... i was thinkin mayby a very small bit drill just to drill out the solder but i dont want to mess up the circuit board

is there any tricks to get solder out of tricky areas ? its a very small hole mayby 2-3 millimeters, but the pins on the power terminal must fit in and then be soldered from the backside of the board

what?? you mean use force to get the liquid solder out? i dont know man that sounds harsh on a circuit board with all sorts of doo-dads on it
yes, use the force //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

a 3 inch drop isn't going to break anything.

ok i see, its somewhat like a vaccum tube... but does it screw into the solder gun to heat up + then **** up the liquid solder? i dont see how it could **** up solidified solder?

(sorry this is the first time this has happend to me:( )

You can spend a few bucks and get the removal tool, or go to your local Wal-Mart and get one of those suction bulb type things your mother used to use to **** the boogers out of your nose when you were a baby. They only cost around 2 dollars. They are both easy to use. Heat the solder till it liquifies, then use the tool to **** the solder from the board.

ETA: Usually, the real solder removal tools are spring loaded. You set the spring, heat the solder, then push the button/trigger and it pulls a good vacuum to remove the solder. Radio Shack should carry them.
