Help with setup

So im looking at re-doing some aspects of the boat.

Right now I have a CD player with a wired in remote by the driver seat. I don't EVER use the CD player part, just the aux to 3.5in femail.

Audiopipe released this little device which looks like it can eliminate the need for the cd player, and just leave that in the already existing hole where the wired in remote is...

Marine Stereos | APSW-425BTU

Im assuming I could wire this to my EQ and then have the front / tower / sub amps hooked up to the EQ... I really like the idea of not needing to have a cd player in the glove box but I cant find any documentation on this device...

Does it still need a cd player? does it just feed from a 12v remote wire to turn on with the ignition? Im kind of confused how it hooks up.

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Audiopipe on this one. Real marine audio equipment is designed and certified for use in boats, not just conveniently shaped to mimic a name brand remote control. Take a look at Clarion's marine selection. They have a control unit that has a remotely mounted brain with a 4-channel speaker amplifier, and they have wireless and wired remote controls. CMS1

I'm currently running a mix of Sony / Wetsounds / audiopipe and JL audio and a sundown sub. I was just curious if this device does not require a head unit ... Thus eleminating the need for a head unit in the glove box?
