Help with Setup for 01 Subie Outback

My buddy has an 01 subaru outback

His dad said tht there is bose speakers stock (i'm thinking its not but i could be wrong)

Has the 8 speaker set up no mcintosh though

What do we need to do subs in here?

His cousin is gonna sell him an hx2 and m500 (old model v power amp, 8 ga terminals piss me off)

so if we keep the stock headunit we need a sound processer?

and then how does that get hooked up? any help appreciated.
