Help with first system

Ok. Im 16, and just got my first car, and my license. Everyone at school has these setups with Kicker Cvr 12"s in prefabs wired to like 16 ohms lol. Im doing my homework before i try and get a setup. I know how much you all hate when people dont give info about music preference and car type so here ya go.

2001 Ford Taurus ses - NO sound deadening - Big 3 1/0 - No H.O alt or batteries... YET. - 4 Rockford Fosgate 5X7 p1752 (good mid bass, if it matters) on a Hifonics HIFI 100.4 (I set the gain so it only gives off 65 RMS, so it isn't clipping) I have trunk dimensions of -

Width - 37"

Height (sealed from trunk (rear deck height)) - 16"

Height (in the trunk) - 19"

Depth - 30"

I listen to just about everything, from old school Aerosmith to Young Jeezy. But ive come to realize that i have a LOW bass fetish lol. The kickers and Jl's I hear everyday just don't give me what i would like.

What Iv'e been looking at -

I WANT ACCEPTABLE SOUND QUALITY. AND NOT A 50Hz FART MACHINE. I really like the idea of having 2 SSA XCON 12''s sealed off from trunk. Tuned to like 27 HZ on a TRUE 3000 watt amp, and built to specs box. I can fit just about 8 cubes sealed, and about 6 ported in my trunk.

Question - Will these subs and box setup give me the low, brain shaking bass that i really want, and still get loud enough to show off? Iv'e never heard a well configured system before, so im hoping this will be enough for my first system. What do you guys think? Should I look at some other subs? Would I be able to fit a low tuned box in my trunk? And would sealing it off make a big difference in sound? And could someone recommend a great 3000 watt amp? I was thinking sundown 3500, but I would like other suggestions. Thanks everyone

The system you are planning is overly acceptable for both sq and low heart-stopping bass, but as stated above, you need to let us know your financial situation. That setup is great and all but with 3000+ watts your looking at multiple batteries, a high output alternator, hundreds of dollars worth of wiring, and some technical know how to put it all together properly. This is on top of the cost of equipment which is pretty steep already. Not to deter you, because this would make a killer system, but you're looking in the neighborhood of $3-4000.

I wish I was able to afford a $4000 system when I was 16 lol, this will be more than enough for a first system but like the above poster said you're going to have to spend quite a bit of money on just electrical alone.

Yea i know its expensive, im a graphic designer (adobe certified) and district champion in design in my area. so im saving. im not planning on having this system untill i can seriously afford it. and yeah i know what i need electrical wise, ive done my homework lol. but im glad that you guys think it will be good. im trying to do this right the first time. Hopefully doing the build by this summer. what do you guys recomend box wise? do you thing 27hz is good tuning for these subs? and what port area etc... thanks

It would be a lot easier to buy this system up piece by piece than it would all at once. I would start with some sound deadening (you will need it for 3500 watts in a taurus) and work on your electrical. Research, and I mean really get some web time in, stuff like alternators, batteries (make sure they fit and what you are looking for), and above all else MEASURE. No use in buying $4000 in equipment when you receive it all and come to find out you can't fit any of it.

As for your above statement, 27hz is on the low spectrum but will still get you a nice flat response curve in the recommended 5.5ft^3 box. Also make sure you put your vehicle's performance above all else. I have learned the hard way that a badass system isn't worth anything if your car doesn't run.

Ok. So il go with second skin. HO alt, and 2 batts in the back.

So if im using about 4000 watts through the car, that means im using about 300 amps at 13V? So I should go with atleast a 300amp alt?. and what batteries do you guys recommend? Ive yellow/red tops are good for starters and that kinetik is good for the trunk batts...
