Hello guys I got an 01 dodge ram 2500 diesel. I think ALTERNATOR is not a problem since Im shure its big. Baterrie wize, I got 2 brand new ACDELCO.

Now, My truck is a ext cab. I want to PUT 1 10" or 12" sub. I am about 100% sold on the jbl 1500 watts amp. there like 350$ on ebay... plus my friend has one and heard it on 2 12" and its LOUD enough FOR me.

Now, I can buy my friend's JBL 12" subs 75$ EA! I know him enough to know there not broken..we know ea other since grade 1...

Would 1 12" be Good? I want to build a ported box since They sound better I heard. NOW the BIG PROBLEM. Building it to fit UNDER the back seat..

Will it sound any good?

here is a pic of my truck inside. PS:(its now repainted, new rocker cab corers ext..NO MORE RUST!)

Buy one of these (NEW) Street Duty SDC2.0-8-D4 SubwooferNEW SUNDOWN AUDIO SA-8 D2 8" DVC 2 OHM SUBWOOFER | eBay

and this amp - AUDIOPIPE MINI AMP MONO 1000 WATT MOSFET CAR AMPLIFIER | eBay

Do a ported box and yes it will sound good.

Also, you want need any caps if you already have 2 stock batts.
Hi, I could see getting this amp its cheap.. But is it any good? and for the subs I can get his 12" for 75ea and 50ea for his 10s.. his 10s are still new.LOL he doesnt care about his money cuz he has enough....

I know for a fact that only 1 JBL will make me HAPPY compared to nothing ATM.. LOL.

So the thing is.. is the amp you suggest any good? also..I need designs for a ported single 12" box. please? thanks

Maybe so, maybe not.
They be puttin' out them there square waves //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
i don't think they clip as bad as some people think..i ran my 2 8's at full tilt for 45 minutes, pulling ~800w of the rated 1000w. subs were barely even warm

They still do though. I've been around them quite a bit. I tell you my eD 9.1 is a hell of a lot cleaner and puts out the same or better power than a AP 1500.

i didn't say they put out clean power but I think some people assume it puts out extremely dirty power just because it's inexpensive

I have the exact cab and I can tell you a 12 will not fit under the rear seat. (firing forward anyway) Dont know if you will like the sound if you fire up or down. If you do fire up, prepare to hear the roof rattle more than the sub:) had 4 12vs (2 firing forward and 2 firing up) 500w rms each and actually heard the roof rattle louder than the bass.

I got 2 10's under there (sealed) but had to raise the seat ~ .75 inch. Ran 750w rms to each and was very happy until they melted down due to my bad. There should be two bolts on each leg of the seat and two clips at the top of the back. Once the bolts are out pull the legs forward and that should give ya room to push the back down and out. I drilled the stock holes out and went back with 5/8. I was still using the seat and wanted to make sure they stayed put. Also, the brackets that the legs of the rear seat bolt to will come out as well - they are not welded in.

As of now I have just pulled the rear seat out and am getting ready for a dual 18 or triple/quad 15 set up.

I have a single 15 in ~1.5 cuft sealed box that I am moving around to find the best position before building the big box. So far firing it under the driver seat and under the passenger seat seems to be the best spot.

Oh yea, if you start shaking your steering colum with a lot of bass (or the tilt) - beware that the wiring harness is too short and might have some problems with your headlights and insturment lights.

Hope that helps
