help with box situation

i got a new car (92 prelude) and its been a ***** putting in my box. i finally said screw it sawed it in half put it in and glued and braced it in. now the problem is that i have to have the music pretty low because the sub is so close to the trunk the surrond will hit it. so i need some help. i love having a vented box as you can see but i just dont think its working out. should i try and build a smaller vented box or just build a sealed one. i always had the vented box so i have no clue what it will be like in a sealed box which im worried about. the sub is a mag 15". also i had this box in a suv and now that its in my car the bass sounds so much louder even though everything is turned down so much why is this?
