Guys,
Looking for a little help designing a box for 3 sundown sa-12's. The specs call for 2 cubic feet per sub at 35 htz. Some say go lower on the tuning.... Input on this please? I listen to mostly hip hop/rap and I want these things pounding and low, making the hair on my head dance!
The stipulations I have is the box can be no longer than 49" wide and 18" tall. The depth doesn't matter.... Also they need to be all in separate chambers as I'm running 3 separate amps (3 JL 500/1's). I would prefer the ports be across the bottom of the box under the subs if possible with these size stipulations. The box will be for an 04 Avalanche. So once I have the box built I'm gonna be attaching it to a fabricated mid gate (just a piece of 3/4 mdf cut to make a wall and fill in the opening for the original Midgate). So the actual front board of the box will be that 3/4 mdf cut into a wall for the custom Midgate. This link will give a better idea of what I'm saying --
02-2009 Chevy Avalanche or Cadillac EXT. Jumbo Sub Box [AVAJUMBOPOLY] - $484.49 : CarJamz.com, Inc., Car Audio, Stereo, HID Conversion, Custom Boxes, Chrome Trim, Rims, Kinetik
I currently have them in a box I built but I didn't go off of the specs; it was just a box for a 12 I already had and replicated it to make 2 more chambers. I know I'm not getting the full potential out of these subs with the box they're in.
Any help is appreciated.
