yes, your insurance company will want a medical report copy. Like I said, If you claim injuries, they want to be prepared. My wife works in the fraud department of a large national insurance company. Yes, they will request a copy. First they will mail you a packet of info to fill out, In that packet is a release form. Sign it and they get the records, dont sign it and get denied. Its your Choice.

Did they do a blood test when you went into the hospital? If not, they have no proof. You can simply say that , while you have smoked before, you weren't high while driving. You falsely confessed because you were still severely shaken by the accident. Like you said, you thought you migh be dying at first.

I really hope you get punished in some respect for your stupidity, but any competent lawyer can get you off easy unless they took a blood test.

thanks man that sounds right i guess. i am just worrying about the insurance companies checking the medical report because our insurance company is going to have to pay for my care due to the other person not having insurance. the doctor was cool though and he didnt tell my mom i was high. i told him if my parents knew then they probably wouldnt let me go off to college next year. when i was ready to go, he said have fun next year in college and stay focused on my studies. this made me think that i was in the clear. is it possible that nothing was recorded? i dont know if i'm going to be able to sleep tonight. i cant stop worrying about everything. this definitely was an eye-opener and a sign from god telling me not to mess around any more and that consequences are real and a persons life can be turned around instantly. im still shaken up from the whole accident and dont know what to do. i might even try to talk to the doctor again.

can the hospital reveal information that i was high? cuz the doctor asked me if i had taken any drugs and i told him i smoked some weed earlier, but it was several hours before the accident.

So again, They only need a court order if you refuse to release the medical records. That will never happen, Cops could care less about your little accident. They deal with dozens of these a week. If some one died, then maybe. But not for property damage. Its a civil matter now, not criminal.

Your worry now is the insurance ppl. Again, if you want them to give you money, they are gonna want you to give them EVERY THING RELATED to the accident. They want towing, ambulance, hospital, car value, Medical bills, They probly all ready had an ajuster check your car out,. So in order to get those things, they want you to sign a waiver for them to see what ws done at the hospital so they know what to pay. If you refuse to sign it, you WILL BE DENIED. Why do you think insurance companies stay in buisness? By paying out every claim?, No by finding any loop hole to screw you. Even if they pay out, your premiums will go up untill they get thier money back anyway.

Chances are, since she was at fault(I assume), there will be no worry about medical records or the like.

The problem is, if he tries to sue for personal injury, his medical records could then become an issue.
