Help planning new cheap setup, looking for a sub.

haha I seriously. I'm blown away with the choices now! I know the DCs are typically underrated but I feel like I'd still over power the level 2 with 500 watts and under power the level 3. might as well get something in a better range of power for the price. I think I might go with the tc. It seems perfect.

but I've been seeing the tc is best in a sealed box. is this true? can I still tune a sealed box to play lower frequencies?

Can't tune a sealed box but you can over size the box if you want better efficiency and better low end response.

Ported trumps sealed in almost every way except for size and SQ, but even ported boxes can be competitive with sealed boxes in the latter category.

in summary, just use a ported box, those TCs will handle it fine.

You can get a Kicker cvr for under $100. They get load and dont sound to bad
I don't mean to sound like a brainless kicker hater, but seriously?

You can get a dual 2ohm DC and wire it at 4ohms
He did start off by saying cheap! And they are good for what they are made for
The CVR does look good and its only 100$ online. But will it fit my needs well? As in, for the music I like and in a ported box be able to hit the lows acceptably?

As for the AQ street series, they are all 4DVC so I can't run it at 4ohms.

So there is one thing that bugs me, the TC apparently seems to be a home audio sub? I mean, is there difference, will it not sound as good or something? Kinda puts me off.

I'm down to 2 subwoofers. Top two are the Skar and the TC. Then maybe the CVR if those dont work out.

So What keeps me stuck between the Skar is that I have 100rms less than it recommends and I've heard from reviews it doesnt play as well unless it has some more.

And as for the TC, it seems good. Cant really find any reviews but the site has it as a home theater sub, as do the reviews. So idk what to make of that.

Some of the best custom subs are based off of TC motors.
yeah it seems legit. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't changed for only home use. since all the reviews were about home theater set ups.

does anyone else have comments on the rest of the setup? do you suggest I do the big 3 in 4g?
