Hi there, Im about to try and set up a subwoofer in my car, I have the sub and also a choice of 2 mono block amplifiers to power it.
The Subs specs are:
10"
Nominal impedance 4+4 ohms(Dual Voice Coil)
Power Handling 700w
Maximum Allowable Power(according to manufacturer) 350w (Im not sure if this means rms?)
Amp number One Specs are:
Max Power 1000w
RMS Power Output 410rms - 1 channel @4 ohms
RMS Power Output 555rms - 1 channel @2ohms
(this one has a subsonic filter)
Amp number Two Specs are:
Max Power 800w
RMS Power Output 262rms - 1 channel @4 ohms
RMS Power Output 368rms - 1 channel @2ohms
This is the first time Ive wired up a dual voice coil driver and know there are several different ways to wire it to get different loads (parallel and series)
My question is which amp would I be better off using and what way should I wire the chosen one?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can take the time and point me in the right direction.
Mike

A lot of variables are missing to give you a solid recommendation. But, amp one at two ohms and adjust the gain accordingly.
Well it turns out both amps are dead in the water. so I am on the hunt for something that will match. I have attached pic of one of the only bits of info I can find on the driver. Its a

So im trying to work out if its
DVC@ Ohm 4 + 4
Maximum allowable power (according to the manufacturer), W 350
Does this mean it is 350 rms per coil or in total @2 ohm or what?
Sorry if these are really simple questions it is just I really dont have a clue how to work out what im looking at

Yes, the power wires' colors don't match from the dash to the new harness. However, I tested them and the wire I'm treating as the constant 12v is...
