Question about the recommended Seas Neo tweeters.
What is the sound difference between the aluminum and textile tweeters because it appears there are two types of Seas Neo tweeters?

Thanks!
Anybody? I'm thinking about ordering these today but I still haven't figured this out.

Thanks.

People say that a metel tweeter is harsh so the textile dome is for more of a smoother laid back sound. I had the Seas Alum tweets and didnt find them harsh at all. I never got to hear the textile domes but I am telling you that the alums sound great.

Thanks for the input man, it's appreciated. Is there a particular reason why you choose the alum tweet? Do alum tweeters in general perform a certain area better than textiles ones?

I have decided to go with these //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I've been hearing great things about these drivers. Does anyone know the mounting depth of these bad boys? How about a place where you can purchase one?

Thanks!

the only experience i have with aluminum tweets are from my girls type r comps and at high volumes with some female singers and rock they can be very harsh. i do like that they add a little detail to some more mellow vocals like rap vocals and what not. there are some songs that are much more detailed on her system than on mine (ive got momo comps that are silk and known for a very mellow tweet) but overall id chose the silk over the metal.

The only way the Neo aluminum domes are "harsh" is if you listen to harsh music. They are very revealing, which means they make bad music sound terrible and very good music sound great. The level of detail on hard dome has never been duplicated on a soft dome for me in my car, and I've used several SEAS brand tweeters (Lotus, Prestige).

One attribute I will say the Neo aluminum dome has is "brightness." They are "alive" but they are smooth. You can listen to them (off axis) for a long time and you don't need to reach for the volume knob to turn them down. I can think of a handful of car audio dudes have used much more expensive tweeters ($500/pr +) but have come back to them, especially the metal domes it seems.
