Help Me Build My System

Hey guys, first post and I've been out of the car audio game for too long so I've forgotten almost everything I've learned from high school lol.

Anyways, I have a regular cab 2002 f150, so I'll need some shallow mount subs. Not looking to break the bank with the subs, but want them to be relatively loud. Would like to stay around $150 per sub and would like to do 2 10s or 2 12s. Any suggestions?

I plan on buying a basic pioneer headunit and some aftermarket speakers to put in the doors and in the back.

As far as amps go, can I get an amp to power both subs, as well as the speakers? Or am I better off buying a mono block amp to power the subs and then add a second amp at a later time if I want to power the speakers?

Here is the box I am looking at:

Ford F-150 Standard Cab 97-03 Dual Subwoofer Box

Thanks everyone! Please offer some suggestions and help me out!

welcome. first thing of car audio, space makes bass. that being said cramming 12's and 10s into a box wont be nice.

a single 10 ported, or dual 8s ported would be probably the most adequate option you have.

with your budget some soundqubed hds208's and a 1200w mono amp. and a small 4 channel for your door speakers.

dont go prefab box. a prefabricated box is the worst thing you can do for a subwoofer. there is no such thing as a universal t shirt size right? well same thing there is no universal subwoofer box size. what is your total budget for everything? remmeber you need wiring, 2 amps, subs, speakers, head unit, and sub box.

go used with everything itll save you money. only thing to buy new is the box. @CSCStang on here build and ships awesome affordable custom subwoofer enclosures.

the wiring will be roughly $50
box around $200 could be more, could be less.
subwoofer, soundqubeds are like $120 i think
a nice 1200w amp like $200
and a 4 channel like $150 dont need much.

gotta up budget for door speakers and HU OR do a single sub on 600w

Okay interesting. Thanks for the great insight! 2 of those 8inch soundqubed is definitely in my budget. Can a ported box be made that will fit behind the seats of a regular cab pick up that still gives them the correct space they need?

Now let's talk amps. If needed, I can buy an amp to power the speakers at a later time, but is there an amp that can power both subs and the speakers? Or should I stick with a mono amp for the subs?

gotta measure your dimensions and see what you are working with.

there IS amps that can power both speakers and subs but they dont produce much power for the sub channel and if they do, its going to be an expensive above budget amp. your better off getting 2 amps.

Okay thats what I was orginally thinking. I'll stick to just one mono amp right now and then add an amp later if I want. Can you reccomend any amps for those subs? Back in the day I had a type R running of a Hifonics amp and it seemed to do pretty well.

well it depends are you going with 1 sub or 2 subs? but a 1200w amp will be fine. there's plenty of options, and yes hifonics is ok but better can be had for a bit more. but if you liked it then by all means search for a hifonics 1200w. but if you go the hifonics way stick to the brutus line. thats the only line of ams that does close to rated.
