Help!! Just got subs installed and not bumping

I just got my subs installed

CVRDCVR12 2 12 inch kickers

Max amp 1600

Min amp 800

2,4 ohm

The amp I have is Boss Imp10002 1000w 2 Ch Car Audio Amplifier Amp 2 Channel 1000 Watt

And I have a pioneer radio. When I put on a song the subs bump for 30 seconds then go off and just my speakers are playing. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Your amp is only stable bridged at 4 ohm. You're trying to run it at 2 ohm bridged and it's going into protect mode. You can get inside the box and wire the subs separately (which are dual 2 ohm) to each channel of your amp at 4 ohm. This will keep it from going into protect mode. My suggestion would be to sell the amp on Craigslist and get a monoblock that is stable to 2 ohm and does around 600-800 watts rms. There's some in the classifieds here that will do you just fine for 100-150 bucks. That Boss isn't going to show you any power either. To be honest, it's a piece of garbage.

Get a mono amp or an amp that's 1 ohm stable and 2 ohm stable bridged.

I have one of these and it does 600+. Best amp for the price ($63), just dont run it full gain.
