Help installing amp for door speakers?

well i've been using this site as much as i can since i've been a member now, but im having trouble finding any info on going bout amplifying my door speakers? for example what kind of amp? how do i got bout wiring it? id appreciate any help u guys could give, if anyone has any helpful links i could read, that would be great too, but all advice and help is appreciate it

First thing....

Stock speakers or aftermarket ones?

If aftermarket what brand and what are they rated at power wise.

Next are the co-axils or componets. (co-axils are ne speaker with the tweet and mid together, Comps are seperate usually with a crossover.)

Do you need to power 2 speakers or 4?

price range?

Stock headunit or aftermarket.

Once you determine all these you can find an amp. Answer them and I bet you will get tons of recomendations for amps. Then we can help you with the wiring.

hey thanks alot man well to answer all of ur questions they are after market pioneer coax speakers, i want to power all four door speakers, the speakers are not that expensive and if i am correct i dont think they are rated at NO more than 40 rms ...the HU in the car right now is a Pioneer DEH-P7700MP...price range for amp would prob be no more than 100-150

check into a low powered 4 channel kicker amp on ebay, good deals..

You have two choices.

1) run new lines to the dook speakers.

2) disconnect the speaker wire from the Head Unit and use the exising wire runs.

Either way you will need a power, ground, and remote wire. As well as a set of RCA's to provide the amp with signal. I would look into a profile 4 channel, its cheap and puts out its rated power. When you go looking for an amp, look at the 4ohm RMS or continious rating. These are the numbers you need.
