~Help choosing components~Already made a List!!!

Ou of your list I would recommend the ID's, they are the best budget set I heard to date and full warranty with woofers on those to boot! Followed by the Pioneers. ID all the way in this case hands down! the Zapcos are sweet too but you will NOT recieve any sort of warranty whatsoever!
So you think the ID's to...thats 2 votes for them. I like them alot 2. anyone else got any different suggestions or different component sets they would like to mention?? thanks for the help so far guys!

hmm idk..thats pushin it a little..i mean its not like i dont have it, its just that i dont want to spend quite that much and i have feeling there mite be something up to its potential for less money..but i will def. keep that in the back of my head
Those are $500 components retail, and sound as good as a lot of components costing twice that. You definitely would not regret getting that set.

Although, I would suggest going active if you want the best quality to price ratio. There are tons of great DIY drivers out there, and you can get a decent active xover for not much cash if you buy use (look for the coustic XM6 on ebay).

I am going active in my new setup, got my drivers for $200 total ($100 for tweets, $100 for mids) and I would be willing to put them up against just about any sub-$1000 set out there once I get done tuning.

can you explain what going active means to me??
Basically, it means that you get to mix and match your drivers, and you get to choose which frequencies thos drivers are crossed over. Each driver gets its own channel of amplification. An active setup gives you much more control over the tuning of your system. It also means you can spend less money to get great SQ.

What you need:

4-channel amp

active crossover (unless your HU is active-capable)

mids

tweeters

obvious install pieces (deadening, wire, etc)

If you are interested in taking this route, there is an "Active vs Passive thread in this section that gives a more detailed explanation. You should also join the forum over at diymobileaudio.com, because there are a TON of guys over there running active setups that can help you out.

i havent decided if i want the pioneers yet..Ive heard alot about hertz, and rainbows..where can i look to find the cheapest prices on these component sets???
I am a big fan of both of these brands..... BIG. In this price range you can get some nice products from both companies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
