For some reason when the bass hits my subs make a very loud noise almost like someone is messing with the rca's. The sound is VERY loud as if the stereo is at full tilt but it does it no matter how much the volume is up. I tried replacing the rca's with better ones; I also reset my gains. I am using the same ground that I have always used, but none of my other amps ever did anything like this. The amp was working just fine up to about 2 days ago.

yea its not the gain I turned that nearly all the way down and the noise just gets quieter. The only option I have left is taking the subs out and rewiring them. I really didn't want to have to do that but maybe some wire came loose or something. Kicker sub terminals **** for chaining the subs maybe I will get some distro blocks and hook all the positives and negatives together like that.

yea actually now that you mention it at the the same time I gained a turn off and turn on pop but its not near as loud. Before all this happend I had no turn on or off pop.

umm, weird. But i had a similar problem, except it was with my tweeter. one of the connections came loose, but it was still touching it, so everytime the bass hit, it would sound all distorted because the bass kept making the wire touch and not touch.

I just tried everything possible and I am 99% positive that it is the amp. I used a different head unit, redid my ground, rewired the speakers, and I even tried hooking an mp3 player directly to the amp. All of these test still resulted in the amp going haywire. Another reason I think its the amp is because my friend had his hand on it and got a pretty good jolt and jumped back.

You've pretty much resolved it yourself. You've narrowed it down to most likely being your amp. Only thing to do now is install another amp on the same wiring to see if it works in your system and get your amp repaired or replaced if it does.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the amp? I want to know if it is even worth fixing or if I should just bite the bullet and pick up a zx2500.1 like

I planned on in the first place.

Whoa!!! That's a sign from God!

Fix your ground wires. You do not have a good ground, either a loose connection or a bad contact at the ground point. Your using the same thickness of wire for the ground as for the main power positive right?
