hi i just bought a new car stereo and tho it is all fine an apparantly done properly everytime i turn the engine off the memory is wiped an goes back to the factory settings? i was told the wires are wrong, no constant connected only switched?? i used the wires that came with the stereo? are they no good then? can i get round it without buyin a new set of wires? please help

what car? the wires that the ppl are refering to is the red wire and the yellow wire from the deck. the red wire goes to a "switched" wire from the car which is the wire that is known as the ignition wire. it only shows 12v when the key is in the forward or acc position. the yellow wire is the memory wire that wire should always be seeing 12v regardless if the car is on or off. if you tell the type of car i can tell you wat wire goes where.

all my sources don't show a 1992 bmw 320i u sure about that ? i can't find any deck info that may be one of those years where you have to run your own 12v constant from the fuse box.
