what is the preferred way to connect an amp to a sub? speaker wire, or something i dont know about yet? remember, i am a newbie, so be gentle!

depends wat subs u got really on wat u need i use 8g but im guess small as 12 would work fine

12 awg is fine,16 awg could work to but i use 10 awg just becuase less resistance and i ran out of 12awg wire lol

it does not depend on the sub, it depends on the power you will be running to the sub.

I personnaly use an 8 gauge. I do not need it at all but it looks badass haha.

roughly 1600 rms watts needs approx 20 amperes. for satey reasons you can easily run a 12 gauge for 20 amps and have no problems.

8 gauge woudl be good for roughly 10000 watts roughly.
