Has Kenwood ever made a good sub?

However.. One thing they do have going for them is the beautiful design on the KFC-XW subs.. They are very pretty..

there is a guy at work that has a pair of 12inchs subs there older ones and they sound good. he has them in a 98 blazer and they do get loud off off like 400 watts or so at 2 ohms.

I DESPISE those subs. About as ugly as they get, and they are not very good performers.

Remember, I'm not asking about subs that they have that aren't horrible. I'm asking for subs that they made that are good.

Well be happy it was the only Kenwood sub you owned, because I have yet to be shown a worthwhile Kenwood sub itt yet!

You likin your Type-R's? I have always liked them, but they are very controversial on this site. I think you may want to reconsider your amp choice though lol. Never been a fan of PA...

They make OK decks at best. Thats it. They make mediocre everything else. In this time, where stock car systems are getting better, and at the same time harder and more expensive to integrate aftermarket options into, I just cant see them surviving off of "good decks" alone.

...They actually make arguably the best touchscreen DD, and a lot of awesome decks for the money. But everything else they make, subs amps speakers etc., it all mediocre at best. At least their new ish. It's the old ish I'm not sure about.

i made a thread about it but he never put up the money to change out some of his stuff he allso has i think 2 15s or 2 10s im not sure hes allways blastin his sh it at lunch lol. the subs are blue i can look on line to see im not sayin there great but there at least 8 years old thats what he said and they been used the hole time and they sound good. i wana say it might b due to the fact he has a 2 door blazer and from what i heard it dont take much to get them loud.

i swear by kenwood decks but the rest is ehhhh. alpine has dropped quality on there decks over the yrs and has been making decent subs and amps...

i remember they had a beast actually lol. was produced to compete with the w7.... didnt thou haha. let me search around for a pic of oneedit:

heard two of them three years back at a shop was kind of musical but was nice and loud. i was very suprised lol. not amazing but yeah.

Mel (RXZILLA) had six of those(I want to say 10"ers) walled in his Durango and was streetbeating around a 155-156 IIRC. He works/worked for Kenwood so I'm sure he got some sort of hookup on them.
