Can I do better?

Newbie to car audio and was looking to get a new sub and amp for my car. Not looking for anything that'll bounce the neighborhood, just something that hits nice and sounds good. This is what I'm leaning towards so far:

Alpine MRP-M500 Mono subwoofer amplifier — 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com

Sound Ordnance™ B-12 Ported enclosure with one 12" subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

For the money, can this be beat? If so, suggestions are very welcome.

Yup, much better.

- Buy this sub: RWE-302 - MB Quart 12" 1000 Watt Reference Series Subwoofer

- Have someone build you a proper enclosure. 1 cube sealed is about right. Sealed enclosures are easy as hell to build.

- Look in the classifieds for a monoblock that does 1,000 @ 1 ohm/500 @ 2 ohms.

It'll probably end up costing less money, and you'll have the option of adding a second subwoofer in the future...

Thanks for the suggestion, is that 1 cube sealed counting the woofer or before? Also, what are some amp brands to look for/avoid, I'm really only familiar with home audio.
