Gun Guys Enter.

You might be able to find a Garand for ~600 that would be more fun to shoot, but it would be pretty beat up for that kind of money I would think. 30 06 is a bad *** round.

If you change your mind on the WW2 stuff, look at AK-47s. They are fun to shoot, and cheap as dirt to buy new.

A Garand is what I was going to suggest...very fun and I also love the 06 (had a 1903)

and the AK is cheap because it is a throw away gun.

i was planning on getting a garand after the m1a1, the carbine you can shoot longer, cause the garand is about 10 pounds heavier and has a larger shell, im sure you know.

i wish i could find a gewehr 43, but nearly impossible.

the local gun shop was also selling a SA-58 for 650, which is crazy cause it is so new.

it is the new version of the fn-fal pretty much.

i also want one of those.

I have an M1 Carbine w/ full stock and heat shield. Nice little gun, relatively accurate. I actually killed my first deer w/ it when I was 6. (yes, 6)

If you do get one, check the trigger weight. Mine is WAY too heavy and not very crisp, could really use a trigger job. I used to have hell w/ it as a kid and would tend to jerk at the last minute when practicing, always took it calm in the stand though. Killed 5 deer with it before I went to a Ruger Mini-14 at age 8. Much better trigger and more accurate. Dime grouping at 100yrds easy.

good to know.

mine will embed the lightweight rounds in your skin, we kill squirrels with the heavier rounds and there are much more powerful guns out there.
seriously.

the barret light they make is gas powered.

it shoots a 8mm bb at 800fps.

that can and will kill if hit in the right spot.

thats a pretty cheap price over here in california buying guns legaly is way to expensive so i belive that is a great price for a registered rifle. but for hunting i think the 25 semi automatic rifle with the 15 round clip is pretty good. i personally have a winchester model 12 .12 gauge im mostly a shotgun person but yes the m1 is a great gun so is the m4 and the m16 sadly civilians cant have the three round burst shot with them
