Guide to know all the wires I need?

yeah my name is stupid
Im getting frustrated figuring out what wires and everything I need.

I already have an SI Mag (Dual 2 ohm) and a Sundown SAZ1500D. I plan on getting 2 comps for my front doors and a cheap Profile CA600 amp. I have a junk Pioneer 4600 H/U.

The amps and sub will be in the trunk in a grand prix.

can someone give me some guidance? please? I want to run 1/0 guage to the trunk and 1/0 guage to the sundown.

how much 1/0 Guage do you think I need for the big 3 in addition to this?

I think I used about 10ft of 1/0 gauge for my big 3...then a lot more for the run to the trunk...probably used about 30ft total for mine.

What you gotta do is just go measure roughly...take a measuring tape out there and measure (roughly of course) the length from the alt to the battery. Then hopefully you only need about a foot to ground the battery and another foot to ground the engine block.

And your only running 1 wire to the trunk right? Nobody can tell you exactly how much you need (unless they have the same car) so basically just go measure and whatever you get, add a few feet onto that just to be safe...its a lot better to pay an extra 5 bucks for a few extra feet than come up a foot short and have to buy all new wire:furious: ....trust me I almost had to...

you need a 200-250A fuse near the battery

I would suggest -

this Sound quest ANL fuse holder

You can get a "sealed" type for another few bux.

You'll need an ANL fuse for that. 250A will also work.

You need a fused distribution block

and fuses (sub amp), (component amp)

Not sure what length interconnects you need, but here are some cheap 12 footers UTP Sound Quest, or you could spend a bit more for Stinger Hypers. There are 3 models higher than that (up to about $50) just so you know. I'd never spend that much on signal cables, or recommend doing so.

What is a good 1/0 guage amp kit to buy anyway? There are Kicker dual amp kits on ebay but its just the wire. Knukonceptz is sold out of their 1/0 guage copper amp kits, the only other ones there are aluminum.

Would i be better off buying everything separately?

but isnt the 1/0 guage in that aluminum coated with copper...meaning it would allow as much current to flow as the copper 1/0 but it is much larger. that was my understanding at least. am i wrong?

Consisting of 5145 Strands of CCA the KLM Kable is equal in size to the Kolossus Kable, but is designed for lighter current loads and not lightening your wallet.

The KLM Kable 1/0 Metallic Blue Cable offers incredible flexibility and a rugged PVC outer jacket that is impervious to grease and oil. The PVC outer jacket can with-stand the extreme temperatures (-40 to 105 C) and capable loads of 250A.

So do I need one set of RCAs from HU to one amp, another set from the HU to the other amp and then speaker wire from the smaller amp up to my comps?

Or so I only need one set of RCAs from HU to one amp, and then another set from one amp to the other? I dont understand how you run RCAs with giant plugs on the ends through stock wiring locations. Someone help me out

If your HU has more than one pair of preamp outputs you'd want to run a seperate pair to each amp so you can fade from comps to subs.

If fading isn't important to you or your hu only has one pair then the other way's fine.

I've always just pulled my kick panels and door sill trim plates and run rca's behind/under them, under the back seat and into the trunk.

FYI - a couple feet of stiff straight wire (coat hanger) bent in 1/2 makes a handy tool to thread wire through tight spots.

What size fuses should I get for the 1/0 to 2 4 guage D-block? ONes going to the Sundownz and the other o a small two channel (havent bought yet).

What RCAs from Knukonceptz should I get, there are different price ranges; which one isnt overkill?

Lastly, how do I get the wires into my ported box without putting the wires through the port?

I'd probably go 150A for the 1500 and whatever the fuses on the comp amp add up to. If it's the ca600 no larger than 50A. I'd probably go with 40 if you're just running it 4 ohms stereo.

Of knu's cables I like the Karma's the best.

get terminal cups

Ahh, the 1/0 guage Knukonceptz kit wants me to select a fuse size. Do I add up the fuses in the 1500D and other amp and combine them to come up with this number? Where does this fuse even go?
