That door look's awesome!!!

It's a hunk of 3/4" baltic birch actually. Had to make some "custom" pieces along the top to match the curves of the stock panel and seal it up and make sure it mounted solid.

Yep, AA poly mids. Discussed it with Chad and me being a HT guy I wanted a center channel in my doors. MTM style...

Would like to see a bunch of coats of poly on those to get that nice bartop look. I hope youre not using spray poly.

Nope, 2 coats of brush on, but funny you mention the bar top stuff. I was actually going to use that, the pour on stuff. But the dry time was more than I wanted to wait for.

Thought about doing that, but the only vinyl I had on hand was a very light gray and I had the carpet laying around.

I'm more of a form follows function guy, so I just wanted it to look decent while performing well. Which is does...

ok get the 220 grit out and lightly sand to get those tiny bumps out...it'll get white and chalky but dont fret. Brush on another coat. Repeat about 6 more times. Hit it with some 0000 steel wool after coat 6. Brush on coat #7 and it'll look pimp.

nice job,how much power per door?

I run them active off a Helix 4 channel. I found a few olds tests and the amp benched around 90watts per channel.

Mids are paralleled to 2ohms, tweets are 4ohms. Gain is up about 1/8 on the tweets and about 1/2 on the mids. Doesn't seem to need a lot of power to get them loud and clean.

LOTS of punch on drums and I listen to a lot of 80's metal, so perfect for me.

*drools* AMAZING. after i get my amp for my drivers, my next step will be to add another 6.5" eclipse set to my front stage. going to need to do some fabrication like that. not good at it tho... how much do u think a shop would charge to do something similiar to yours?

This way when they get hit/bumped I won't care as much...
