I personally have always oversized my boxes, and I'm not exactly easy on my woofers, but I know what a speaker sounds like when it isn't happy.

Yeah I like to make mine pound, cant hardly do it tho cause the amp will shut off every 15 mins. It dont like gettin warm

Sweeeet....I was hesistant to post a thread about this b/c I saw a guy post about getting his MT 10 metered and he did 140 something and pretty much everyone broke balls on him.

i know what you talkin about, it's cuz he kept talking "my #'s will jump when i tune and test on right frequency" then he barely gained anything lol, so the wolves ripped him apart.

You can get an amp that is capapble of 1800 watts, and then just set it up fo 1200... headroom is nice to have... IMO

hifonics 1800 watt would be about right,that u have,the bx model,because thier a little overrated

I believe thats what Ill do then, get this Hifonics fixed and use it. Plenty of extra power if I ever want to do anything else.

Just got to find someone who can fix it....

about the fuse x 10 thing, if you look at JLs / amps

the 1000/1 calls for a 100 amp fuse

the 500/1 a 50 amp fuse

the 250/1 a 30 amp fuse

so it seems to be just about right on, tho all of those amps can do more than rated

manny was getting 143.X in street beat (30 sec avg.) on his sx18 with a RE 12.1 powering it, so im going to say that its mostly install as to why yournot breaking 140 on burps.

FYI www.kbaudio.com can fix your amp...around 150 bucks. I had them fix a memphis St1500D for me they do a nice job and warranty their work
