Went to Jackson, TN today to get my SX 18 metered. It was at JC Audio, and the dude said he had 2 mics, one was a cheap one and the other costed him like $4000 to get, i forget the names of the mics but anyways. They charged $10 to get metered by the cheap one and $15 for the more expensive. Idk why I just didnt go ahead and do the $15 one but anyways.
The mic he brought out was all taped up and shit, you could tell it been from hell and back, idk if that made a difference prolly not.
Well, he turned it on and set everything on the h/u and started at 30hz and it hit like a 125 and then I did 45hz and it hit like a 137 and i figured cool its going up, lets try 50hz went to 130.
So, the most I hit was a 137 @ 45hz. At that point I was disgusted and he was talkin about voltage drops and shit and asked me what kind of amp I had and i told him a Kenwood 1000D and then he asked what size fuse it had and I told him 40amp. He said oh well thats prolly your problem your amp is only pushing 400W. I said hows that? And he told me, well usually you can take the fuse rating and multiply it by 10 and thats the true power your getting.
All in all I was disappointed. I mean I expected 140s atleast, but then I realize it aint near as good as it should be. So time to rip it all out. I kinda threw it all together fast and didnt take my time. Learned from that mistake, wont rush anything anymore.
That is all.
