Got a problem with my BXi1606D

Well, I got my amp tuesday from onlinecarstereo.com and everything. Shipped nicely, no dents in box nothing bad at all.

I hook it up, re-wire my sub up to 1ohm and everything and my amp plays good and all, but it goes into protect about after 45mins of play.

The amp doesn't feel hot, the sub doesn't feel hot and everything, I don't think something is right here.

For one, the amp puts out about 1300rms at one ohm. To actualy get my 15" L7 D2ohm to move (not even loud) I had to set the gain to 3/4 and my bass boost up a quarter. Its going into protect, but soon as I turn on and off my radio its fine. My H/U settings are.. Sub vol+6 bass +2 sub lpf 80hz..ect nothing was changed since I had my punch801s in it.

The amp slips into protect. I don't get it.

So I hooked up my trusty fluke to the sub coils. Each coil is @ 2ohms, the output of the amp is at 1ohm. (Bridged my 87). The amp powers up fine I replaced my power and ground wires with new stuff. It just seems like when I really get the sub moving it goes into protect.

P.S. When I had my BX1500D I only had to set the gain less than 1/4 and it was unbearable. No bass boost, nothing I wired the L7 in parallel and that is 1ohm. I even double check by using the sub wiring config here.

Do I have a faulty amp?

Well, I just looked at the kicker website and I think I have may found the problem. Would this affect it?

Here is how I have the L7 wired right now.

Coil 2 neg to Coil 1 neg to amp

Coil 1 pos to Coil 2 pos to amp

how kicker reccomends...

Coil 2 neg to Coil 1 neg to amp

Coil 2 pos to Coil 1 pos to amp

would that mess up current to amp?

i am saying ballpark 1300watts because the hifonics amps are overrated. my bx1500d birthsheeted did ~1245 @ 1ohm rated at 1500rms at one ohm,,,

answer my question in post 3.

and yes i have a dmm

stop. i already did that. the amp is powering up fine, the amp is putting out 1ohm did you not read my opening post?

i want to know if the sub will run at one ohm the way i have it hooked up (post 3). so stop if you dont know what the hell im talking about.

if you read what i wrote i never said check the freakin amp i said check the sub

if you freaking read my first post you would of read my sub put out 2 ohms on each coil.....

15" Kicker L7 Dual 2 ohm.

Here is how I have the L7 wired right now.

Coil 2 neg to Coil 1 neg to amp

Coil 1 pos to Coil 2 pos to amp

how kicker reccomends...

Coil 2 neg to Coil 1 neg to amp

Coil 2 pos to Coil 1 pos to amp

would that mess up current to amp?

no it will not and i clearly read that the sub is dual 2 ohm, in which you can wire it to 1 ohm or 4 ohm, and your wiring vs kicker is basically the same, the amp is 1 ohm stable

read my post again. please read how i descriebed each coil and how it is hooked up.

how you described it is correct. that is how I have the woofer hooked up. all +'s, and -'s, together.

i just want to know if i can run it the way i have it in my last post and the sub will still be one ohm.

even more in-depth look at the difference how i have it hooked up in positive and look how kicker reccomends it.

am i reversing polarity on the positive side?
