I have 2 RF 12" P312D4 subs and im lookin to get a new amp, because my 2ch now doesnt have enough power to run them and i want something better, so a local car audio suggested goin to a mono amp to run these. There dual 4 ohm subs and want to know the best mono amp to run them, but not spend a whole lot of $$ i was thinking alpine, kenwood, RF, Hifinotics or anything that cant easily run them...!?

Why would you want something that CAN"T easily run them??

Anyways, these kinds of questions don't make much sence because there is no "best amp" for any given situation. There will always be AT LEAST a few different amps that will be comperable in price and performance.

I meant CAN sorry and im just lookin for suggestions on some amps to get to run my subs, kenwood i know overheat cuz ill be running at 1 ohm, but will also easily power them, so i dont know what would be a good amp

You have MANY options. I would wire them to a single 4 ohm load and find an amp that will deliver enough power plus some head room...the more the better.

You get another identical amp and put 1 amp per sub....

(I am not familiar with the specs of your equipment)

Its a kenwood KAC-X520 2ch amp and im not to familiar with ohms that much, but someone said it running at 1ohm and i dont think my amp can push them without overheating and it wont give it the max power prolie half IF that.

any of the brands you listed would be fine -

You're looking for as close to 1000w rms @ 1 ohm, or as close as you can get on your budget.

A 2 ch amp doesn't make much sense IMO -- for one, at 1000w you're going to spend quite a bit more on a 2ch (a/b) than a mono, and 2, for that 1000w your electrical system will have to work a lot harder for a/b than for a mono (if it's class D).

You can spend about $200 for something decent or $300+ for something pretty nice.

If you're really barrell scraping you can go with a refurb on ebay for $150ish.

Would the Alpine MRD-M1005 be a good amp to run 2 P312D4 subs?
it's a real nice amp, but doesn't fit the application that well IMO.

the m1005 is optimal at 2 ohms, where it puts out 1000w+.

A pair of DVC 4's can only be wired for 1 ohm or 4.

At 1 ohm the Alpine's not stable -- It might survive, but it might not.

At 4 ohms you'd only get about 500w out of it. Enough to get decent output from your subs, but selling yourself short in terms of the money spent vs. performance -- on both the amp AND the subs.

So I guess you're willing to spend ~$300??

The amp will see a 2 ohm load with two 4 ohm voice coils wired in parallel, so the output should be 1000 watts.

Thanks evan //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif I have tried many amps before but i have to say that the earthquake tnt 2000w D1 is the best i had so far!
